How to make 3D text
- Type your text; press Enter for a second line and choose left or centre alignment.
- Pick a style: rounded or square sign, keychain with a ring hole, or loose letters.
- Set letter height and depth, and the plate thickness.
- Download STL or 3MF.
Two-colour text on a single-nozzle printer
Print the plate in one colour, then add a pause (filament change) at the plate thickness shown under the preview – the letters print in the second colour.
Ideas
- Desk name plates and door signs
- Keychains and bag tags (use the keychain generator)
- Labels for Gridfinity bins
Frequently asked questions
Can I use my own font?
Three fonts are built in. For other fonts, write the text in a vector editor, convert it to paths and use SVG to STL.
How thin can letters be?
Strokes under about 1 mm wide print poorly on a 0.4 mm nozzle – use a bold font and a letter height of 10 mm or more.
Is it free?
Yes – up to 3 downloads a day free, unlimited with Pro.
