How it works

The model is cut by a horizontal plane at the height you choose. Every place where the plane crosses the surface becomes a line; the lines are joined into outlines and saved as SVG at true scale (millimetres).

Typical uses

  • Laser-cut a base or template that matches a printed part
  • Bring a profile into CAD as a sketch
  • Check wall thickness at a given height

For a full 2D projection of a part, export STEP and use your CAD program's drawing tools.
